Díky velice dobře spravovanému majetku a rozsáhlým hospodářským aktivitám Schwarzenbergové hlubocký zámek dvakrát stavebně upravili, nejprve počátkem 18. století v barokním stylu, později provedli rozsáhlou rekonstrukci zámku v romantickém stylu nové gotiky v letech 1840 - 1871 včetně úpravy parku a okolní krajiny.

Do Biologists Listen to Hunters? Reality is, wildlife managers listen more than many believe — but hunters have to listen in return, too Although such situations can be frustrating, officials say open dialogue is the key to bridging the gap between hunters and biologists. Butler believes that starts with giving hunters real-world numbers. “Here in Mississippi, we have great deal of data on what real hunters see and hear while in the field based on the observations they record as a part of our Spring Gobbler Hunting Survey,” he said. “Over the past 20 years, hunters in Mississippi hear between one and two gobblers per hunt, on average. Hunts in which more than four gobblers are heard only happen on about six to eight trips out of every 100. Most properties only harvest about one gobbler per 500 acres, on average. These numbers don’t sound eye-popping, but they’ve been pretty consistent through time and should help us all really appreciate those rare days when the woods are on fire and there seem to be gobblers in every direction.” Finger said biologists can also try to provide a big-picture, long-term view, which can help temper unrealistic expectations. “We try to provide perspective and ask if hunters keep a hunting log or journal, and if so, does this year really rank as a poor year compared to what they experienced five or 10 years ago, or is it recency bias?” he said. “In reality, most times when hunters think of a the most recent season as being bad, it’s pretty comparable to the majority of their hunting seasons.” Biologists also need perspective, Cain said, especially when it comes to hunter satisfaction and criticism of management agencies. Some of that feedback, although perhaps unfair, is part of the job. “I often tell folks there are a million deer hunters in Texas, and there are a million opinions on how to manage deer,” he said. “It doesn’t matter what regulations we have in place or what we recommend. Someone is not going to be happy, or the deer season didn’t live up to their expectation. Hunters today are more educated about deer management than any time in the past, but some time talking with a professional biologist — state, federal or private — often helps to put the volumes of information about deer and deer hunting in proper context and dispel some of the barstool biology, stereotypes and myths.” Ultimately, Naylor said, the best thing managers can do is openly engage in honest discussions about populations, habitat conditions and other factors that might influence the opportunities hunters experience. “I find those types of conversations — often with individuals or small groups of hunters — to be extremely impactful for me and other hunters,” he said. “I learn more about where they are coming from, and hopefully they leave with increased understanding of the complex drivers of waterfowl migration and hunting success. We have a lot to learn from each other. Those conversations aren’t productive if they involve finger pointing and the blame game — in either direction.” That philosophy is widespread among biologists across the country. “Rest assured, waterfowl managers are not operating some deep conspiracy to pull the wool over hunters’ eyes in regards to waterfowl populations and how we manage those populations and the habitats they need,” Naylor said. “In fact, we’re pretty open about sharing information. Sure, we can always do better, but I don’t know a single colleague who isn’t willing to engage in reasonable conversations like I mentioned.” Although hunters might not always believe it, local, state and federal biologists listen to our opinions and concerns. They can’t please everyone — especially if folks expect miracles — but that continuing communication ultimately creates dialogue that should help boost wildlife and hunting opportunities for years.

Moro Vision MV 740 Generation 3+ Night Vision Scope Review I recently purchased the Moro Vision MV 740 Generation 3+ night vision scope, and I've had a chance to thoroughly test it both in the field and at the range. Below is my honest assessment of its performance, features, and overall value. First Impressions Moro Vision: Out of the box, the MV 740 feels robust and well-constructed. The materials used give it a solid yet lightweight feel, which is important for extended use. The compact design also makes it easy to mount on various firearms without adding excessive weight or bulk. Performance Moro Vision: The night vision capabilities are impressive. The images are bright and clear, even in low-light conditions. I initially tested it during a cloudy night with minimal moonlight, and the scope performed remarkably well, allowing me to clearly identify objects at a considerable distance. The enhanced resolution with the Generation 3+ technology is noticeable, and the clarity is a real game-changer for nighttime observation or hunting. Ease of Use MV 740 Generation 3+: One aspect that I found particularly beneficial is the intuitive controls. Adjusting the brightness and focus is straightforward, even while wearing gloves. The reticle is also clear and easy to see against various backgrounds, which is crucial during nighttime use. Durability Moro Vision: I subjected the MV 740 to various environmental conditions, including humidity and minor impacts. It held up exceptionally well, showing no signs of fogging or damage. The scope is also water-resistant, adding to its versatility for outdoor activities. Battery Life MV 740 Generation 3+ The battery life is another strong point. In my experience, I was able to use it for several outings without having to replace the battery, which is a bonus for anyone who hates being caught off guard with dead batteries while out in the field. Price Point: While the MV 740 is on the higher end of the price spectrum for night vision devices, the quality and performance justify the investment. For anyone serious about nighttime hunting or surveillance, it is worth every penny. Final Thoughts: Overall, the Moro Vision MV 740 Generation 3+ night vision scope has exceeded my expectations. It combines advanced technology with user-friendly design, making it a reliable companion for nighttime activities. Los evropský (Alces alces)... …je největší zástupce čeledi jelenovitých. Žije v lesích severní Evropy, Asie a Ameriky.

Polar bears have long provided important raw materials for Arctic peoples, including the Inuit, Yupik, Chukchi, Nenets, Russian Pomors and others. Hunters commonly used teams of dogs to distract the bear, allowing the hunter to spear the bear or shoot it with arrows at closer range. Almost all parts of captured animals had a use. The fur was used in particular to make trousers and, by the Nenets, to make galoshes-like outer footwear called tobok; the meat is edible, despite some risk of trichinosis; the fat was used in food and as a fuel for lighting homes, alongside seal and whale blubber; sinews were used as thread for sewing clothes; the gallbladder and sometimes heart were dried and powdered for medicinal purposes; the large canine teeth were highly valued as talismans. Only the liver was not used, as its high concentration of vitamin A is poisonous. As a carnivore, which feeds largely upon fish-eating carnivores, the polar bear ingests large amounts of vitamin A that is stored in their livers. The resulting high concentrations cause hypervitaminosis A, Hunters make sure to either toss the liver into the sea or bury it to prevent their dogs from being poisoned. Traditional subsistence hunting was on a small enough scale to not significantly affect polar bear populations, mostly because of the sparseness of the human population in polar bear habitat.

Lynx gracefull hunter Lynx swims well and is not afraid of water like domestic cats. There is documentary evidence that one lynx swam 3.2 km across the Yukon River. Also, the lynx is good at climbing and hiding in trees, escaping from opponents high in the trees. It is considered that lynxes hunt exclusively on the ground. But as you can see from this video, a mountain river is also a suitable place. Lynx (bobcat ) eats 0.6—1.2 kg per day. Mainly hunts the American white hair, which takes up tu 97% of it the total diet. The percentage depends on the season and the number of hares. When there are not enough hares, lynxes begin to hunt ducks, grouse, partridges, squirrels, voles thereby causing serious damage to some of these bird species. Young ungulates (for example, Dall sheep, black-tailed deer, northern forest caribou) can also be a prey. In summer and autumn, the lynx often adds small mammals to its diet, in addition to the hare. Before giving birth to offspring, the lynx prepares a den in dense thickets. As a rule, lynxes have 1-5 kittens. At 5 weeks, kittens leave the den, and by 3 months they are weaned from milk, and switch to eating regular food, which is hunted by mother lynx. Lynx kittens begin to hunt thoroughly at 7-9 months of age.

Steyr Mannlicher Classic .300 Win Review The Steyr Mannlicher Classic in .300 Winchester Magnum is a rifle that stands out for its craftsmanship and performance. As an avid shooter and hunter, I’ve had the opportunity to use this rifle extensively, and here’s my honest take on its strengths and weaknesses. Pros: Excellent Build Quality: The craftsmanship of the Steyr Mannlicher Classic is top-notch. The attention to detail is evident in the wood finish and metalwork, giving it a classic aesthetic that’s hard to match. Ergonomics and Comfort: The rifle feels great in hand, with a well-designed stock that offers a comfortable grip. The weight distribution is balanced, making it easy to carry and maneuver. Accuracy: This rifle is incredibly accurate, capable of tight groupings at long distances. The .300 Win Mag caliber delivers significant power, allowing for effective performance on large game. Versatility: The rifle performs well in various conditions, whether you’re hunting in dense woods or open fields. It's adaptable for different shooting styles and scenarios. Adjustable Trigger: The trigger can be adjusted to suit personal preferences, which significantly enhances the shooting experience. Cons: Price Point: The Steyr Mannlicher Classic is relatively expensive compared to other rifles in its class. It’s an investment, so it might not be the best choice for budget-conscious buyers. Weight: While it’s well-balanced, some may find the overall weight of the rifle a drawback. It can feel heavy during extended periods of carrying, especially in challenging terrains. Limited Aftermarket Support: Compared to more common rifles, the Steyr Mannlicher Classic has fewer aftermarket accessories and upgrades available. This could limit customization options for enthusiasts. Recoil: The .300 Win Mag caliber produces considerable recoil, which might be daunting for novice shooters. Proper technique and practice are essential for comfortable handling. Conclusion: Overall, the Steyr Mannlicher Classic in .300 Win is an outstanding rifle for those who appreciate quality and performance. While it has its drawbacks, the positives significantly outweigh them for serious hunters and shooters. If you’re looking for a reliable and accurate firearm that offers a blend of tradition and modernity, this rifle is certainly worth considering. #SteyrMannlicher #ClassicRifle #300Win #Hunting #Shooting #Firearms #Accuracy #RifleReview #HuntingGear

NEVADA MULE DEER POPULATIONS CONTINUE TO DECLINE Nevada mule deer are on the steady decline and wildlife biologists say it’s due to loss of habitat. While fluctuation is normal when it comes to deer populations, the continual decrease in mule deer numbers across the state predicts a much more serious long-term problem. “When I first moved here in the late ‘70s, if you didn’t see 150 or 200 head of deer in a day, you had a bad day,” said Jim Cooney, chairman of the Elko County Wildlife Advisory Board. “And now, if you see 12 to 15 in two or three days … that’s where we’re at.” According to the Elko Daily, deer peaked in 1988 with healthy numbers over 250,000; however, the current statewide deer population is closer to 90,000.

Sytong AM03-35LFR Thermal Scope with Rangefinder Review I recently had the opportunity to use the Sytong AM03-35LFR thermal scope, and I must say, my experience has been quite a mixed bag. As a nature enthusiast and an avid hunter, I was excited to test this product. Here’s my honest review detailing both the pros and cons: Pros: Exceptional Thermal Imaging: The clarity of the thermal imaging is outstanding. It provides a crisp view even in total darkness, which is a game-changer for night excursions. The 35mm lens offers a good field of view while still capturing distant targets clearly. Integrated Rangefinder: The built-in rangefinder adds significant value, allowing me to accurately gauge the distance to my target. This feature is especially handy for hunters who need to position themselves optimally for a clean shot. Simple User Interface: The setup and operation of the scope are straightforward. I appreciated the intuitive menu navigation, which made it easy to alter settings on the fly, whether during a daytime scouting mission or a nighttime hunt. Durability: The construction feels solid and rugged. It has withstood some rough handling in the field without any noticeable wear, which gives me confidence in its longevity and reliability. Affordable Price Range: Compared to other thermal scopes with similar features, the Sytong AM03-35LFR is reasonably priced, making it accessible for both beginner and experienced users. Cons: Battery Life: While the performance is impressive, I found the battery life to be somewhat lacking. During extended use, I had to carry extra batteries, especially during longer hunting trips, which can be a hassle. Limited Zooming Capability: While the optics are clear, the zoom capabilities might not satisfy everyone. For situations requiring long-range identification of targets, I felt it could use a bit more power to enhance detail. Weight: The thermal scope is on the heavier side compared to some competitors. This could lead to discomfort over extended periods, especially if you’re hiking through rough terrain. Learning Curve for New Users: Although the interface is user-friendly, complete novices may find themselves overwhelmed by some of the advanced features. It took me a bit of time to fully acclimate to all the options available. Calibration Required: I noticed that some users have reported needing to recalibrate the scope periodically to maintain accuracy, which can be a minor inconvenience, especially in the field. Conclusion: Overall, my experience with the Sytong AM03-35LFR thermal scope has been largely positive. While there are a few drawbacks, particularly concerning battery life and weight, the advantages such as excellent thermal imaging, integrated rangefinder, and durability certainly make it a worthy investment. For anyone looking to enhance their nighttime shooting experience, this scope is definitely worth considering. #Sytong #AM03-35LFR #ThermalScope #HuntingEquipment

Tips for Camouflage in Hunting: Choosing the Right Camouflage, Blending In, and Minimizing Noise Effective #camouflage is key to a successful #hunt, as blending into the environment lets hunters approach their target undetected. Here are some tips on choosing the right #camouflage_gear, staying hidden in the forest or open areas, and minimizing noise. Camouflage: How to Choose the Right One The choice of camouflage depends on the terrain, season, and time of day. In the forest, green and brown tones help blend in with trees and foliage, while in winter conditions, a white-grey camouflage works best on snowy terrain. For hunting in open plains, beige and brown colors are better, blending in with grass and dry landscapes. Seasonal #hunting_camouflage also varies: summer clothing is lightweight and breathable, while winter gear is warm and can come with snow covers. Blending in on Different Terrains Beyond camouflage, choose #hunting_gear that doesn’t stand out in the environment. Hats, hoods, and gloves should also match the camouflage pattern. Use face paint on any exposed skin like your face and hands to blend in completely. #Camouflage_nets and blinds are useful for ambush positions, hiding the hunter's silhouette and aiding in a stealth approach. How to Reduce Noise Minimizing noise is essential to avoid spooking game. Move slowly and avoid stepping on dry branches or crunchy leaves. Choose soft-soled #hunting_boots with good cushioning to avoid loud steps. Ensure your gear doesn’t make noise: avoid metal parts that may clang, and choose packs with zippers instead of Velcro. A #hunting_backpack with compartments for quiet access is ideal. Helpful Tips Use natural materials: add grass or leaves to your clothing to enhance #camouflage. Avoid strong scents: animals are sensitive to smells, so use #scent_neutralizers. Wear layers: layered clothing keeps you warm and flexible, allowing you to adjust to temperature changes while staying #camouflaged. These tips will improve your camouflage skills, boosting your chances of hunting success.

ZEISS 10x56 T* FL Binoculars Review In the world of high-performance optics, ZEISS has established a reputation for excellence, and the 10x56 T* FL binoculars are no exception. As an outdoor enthusiast, I have had the opportunity to test these binoculars in a variety of conditions, and I would like to share my thoughts on their performance, design, and value. Optical Performance: The first thing that stands out about the ZEISS 10x56 T* FL binoculars is their remarkable optical clarity. The 10x magnification paired with the 56mm objective lens provides an impressive light-gathering capability. This feature allows for exceptional performance in low-light conditions, making these binoculars ideal for dawn and dusk when wildlife is most active. The T* coating enhances light transmission, resulting in bright, vivid colors and sharp images with minimal chromatic aberration. Throughout my use, I was particularly impressed by the wide field of view, which is crucial for tracking moving objects. Even at 10x magnification, the image remains stable and clear. This binocular is perfect for birdwatching, wildlife observation, and even stargazing, offering stunning details and a beautiful view of the night sky. Build Quality & Ergonomics: The build quality of the ZEISS 10x56 T* FL is exceptional. The body is made of high-quality materials that feel robust while remaining lightweight. I appreciate the ergonomic design, which fits comfortably in hand during long observation sessions. The focusing mechanism is smooth and precise, allowing for a quick adjustment to different distances. One feature that stood out to me is the water and fog-proof design, thanks to the nitrogen filling and sealed construction. This ensures reliability even in challenging weather conditions. I tested them during a light rain, and the binoculars performed flawlessly without any internal fogging or damage. Difficulties & Considerations: While the ZEISS 10x56 T* FL offers outstanding performance, it is important to consider a few potential drawbacks. First, these binoculars are on the heavier side compared to other models, which can be a factor if you plan to carry them for extended periods. Additionally, the price point is quite steep. It may not be the best investment for casual users or beginners, but for serious birdwatchers, hunters, or nature enthusiasts, the quality and performance may justify the investment. Value for Money: In the end, whether the ZEISS 10x56 T* FL binoculars represent good value for money largely depends on individual needs. For someone who frequently uses binoculars in low-light conditions and values premium quality optics, this model is a top contender. The clarity, build quality, and overall performance are hard to match, making them worth considering if budget allows. Conclusion: To summarize, the ZEISS 10x56 T* FL binoculars are a superb choice for anyone looking for high-end optics.

10 Elk Hunting Tips from the RMEF Do You Use These Tips? All tips were condensed from past features in RMEF's bi-monthly member magazine, Bugle. A subscription comes with an annual RMEF membership for $35. To join, call 800-CALL ELK or visit www.rmef.org. 1. Scout from Space If you've looked into the night sky, you've noticed the many satellites now orbiting our planet. They're great tools for today's hunter. Google Earth uses satellite images and aerial photography to give bird's-eye views of elk country. Locate meadows, burns, roads, water, heavy-timber escape areas and more. You can even find places where the forest canopy thins to suggest hidden grazing spots for elk. Newer GPS units accept uploaded coordinates from Google Earth, allowing you to walk directly to and more efficiently ground-truth potential honeyholes. 2. Count Points Quickly In good habitat, a bull normally has a 5-point rack as a 2-1/2-year-old and a small 6-point rack the following year. Instantly distinguishing five- and six-pointers is not difficult. The fourth point, sometimes called the dagger point, is normally the longest point and most distinctive feature of an elk rack. If the main beam goes straight back from the dagger, you're almost certainly looking at a five-by-five. If there's another point rising upward behind the dagger, perhaps forming a horizontal "Y," then you're looking at a six-by-six. 3. Practice for Stress Flinging arrows in the backyard is a far cry from placing a perfect shot on a live elk. In addition to changing shot angles and distances, hunters also must cope with distractions and excitement. Hone your focusing skills by practicing out of your comfort zone. Go to a public range, enter a 3D tournament, practice in the rain, shoot with strangers, hunt small game, anything to break normal concentration and practice rhythms. If you're with buddies, try talking trash: "Hey, watch and learn while I center-punch this target..." Creating pressure and mental stress, expressly for the purpose of ignoring it, can help you overcome bull fever in the field. 4. Get Dropped Off Halfway between a fully guided hunt and a do-it-yourself endeavor, a drop camp is a good option for those who can hunt and cook for themselves, but need help setting up a comfortable camp in the backcountry. Many elk outfitters offer pack-in/pack-out drop-camp services. Drop camps can come complete with wall tents, cots, table, chairs, stove, cut firewood, camp tools and water. Some outfits even provide food and two-way radios. Cost is typically much less than a fully guided elk hunt. Talk to several outfitters about a drop camp and see if it's right for you. The BaseKamp Draw-Odds (and More) App for Western Big Game Hunting BaseKamp App 5. Try a Treestand Bowhunting elk the whitetail way can be super effective if you've scouted well enough to detect patterns in elk movements. Hang or set your stand near a waterhole, wallow, food source or travel corridor. A hot waterhole will be marked with fresh droppings, tracks and rubs -- lots of rubs. Prime forage areas include parks, meadows and hayfields. Travel corridors can be trickier to find. As you search for well-used game trails, also look for terrain features such as cliffs or saddles that will funnel elk into your ambush zone. 6. Claw for Ivories Some hunters have found that a normal claw hammer works well for removing ivories from elk. Easier than pulling a nail, they say. Open the mouth, position the claw around the base of an ivory and angle the tool so that you're prying squarely against the roof of the mouth. Gently lift the ivory out of its socket. Repeat on the other side. The prized jewelry-teeth should pop out much easier (and safer) than by the normal method of cutting and working them out with a knife. 7. Figure a Tip Everyone knows the appropriate tip for a waiter or waitress is 15-20 percent, but there is no standard for a hunting guide. Most elk outfitters step lightly around this topic because suggesting specific amounts can seem presumptuous. But many veteran hunters agree on a few points. If your guide has met realistic expectations, worked hard, kept promises-someone who's been a fine hunting partner, made your trip enjoyable and did everything possible to put you in a position to fill your tag-a good tip begins at 5-10 percent of the cost of the hunt. For camp cooks and other hands, a good tip begins at $10 to $15 per day. If you happen to kill an elk, consider the guide's added chores of retrieving, cleaning, hauling, caping, etc., and tip more if you're comfortable doing so. Igloo Realtree Playmate Gripper Igloo Realtree Playmate Gripper 8. Save the Hide A hide is far down the list of elk-kill souvenirs to take home, falling somewhere behind meat, antlers, ivories and even bones for the dog. Yet with proper care, a hide can be turned into a functional memento of a successful hunt. Companies today can turn elk hide into gun cases, vests, jackets, gloves -- just about anything made of leather. In the field, treat hide with the same urgency as meat, to prevent spoilage. Don't worry about scraping away all the fat and flesh, but do worry about cutting too many holes. Freeze or salt the hide until you can get it to a taxidermist, tannery or leather specialist. 9. Know Your Range Most elk hunters practice with their rifle at a 100-yard range, which is fine for the close-in shots you may encounter in the field. In a recent survey, about 40 percent of hunters reported the furthest elk they'd ever shot at was within 200 yards, an easy stretch for flat-shooting modern rifles. But more hunters, about 60 percent, reported taking shots at elk that were 200 to 400-plus yards away. Shooting exponentially farther than you've practiced can be risky. Distance magnifies mistakes and miscalculations. If you can't practice at 200 to 400 yards, invest in a rangefinder, bipod, ballistics charts and top-quality ammo. Know your effective limits and don't shoot beyond them. 10. Use Dry Rub Marinades are commonly used in preparing elk meat but more and more professional chefs, like Bugle magazine's chef-columnist John McGannon, prefer dry rubs. He says flavored liquids dilute natural flavors while dry rubs caramelize the protein and maximize the culinary potential of wild game, especially if you're planning to grill, sauté, roast, broil or braise. Apply dry rub 30-60 minutes before cooking. Here's Chef McGannon's recommended dry-rub recipe for elk meat: 4.25 oz course ground black pepper 3 oz. smoked paprika 6 oz. course granulated garlic 6 oz. course granulated onion 1/4 oz. fine ground white pepper 2 tbsp dried thyme leaves 1.25 oz cane sugar 2.75 oz. ground ancho chili 5.5 oz course sea salt 1/4 oz. dried English mustard Don't Miss: How to Call in a Bull Elk Like a Calling Champion
