Two Northern Ontario Men Fined $113,000 for Moose Hunting Violations


Two men from northern Ontario have been fined a total of $113,000 after being convicted of multiple moose hunting offenses that took place during the 2022 season. The charges were laid following an investigation by Ontario’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. ⚖️ Offenses and Penalties The men were found guilty of several violations under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act, including: Hunting moose without valid licenses Failing to submit mandatory reports Transporting unlawfully killed wildlife Unlawfully possessing body gripping traps  Failing to wear hunter orange As part of the sentence, both individuals received significant fines and had their hunting privileges suspended. 🛡️ Conservation Enforcement The Ministry emphasized that these penalties reflect the seriousness of the offenses and serve as a warning to others.
