ОХОТА НА БОБРА В БЕЛАРУСИ Бобр ведет, преимущественно ночной образ жизни. Днем он отсиживается в своем убежище и выходит на кормежку вечером. Эта особенность данного вида очень важна, ведь охота разрешена только в светлое время суток (которые начинаются за час до восхода солнца и заканчиваются спустя 1 час после захода солнца). В связи с этим сроки охоты на бобра ограничены. Особое внимание нужно уделить выбору места засидки. Оно должно быть организовано с подветренной стороны, учуяв малейший посторонний запах, бобр может надолго (либо вовсе) скрыться. Иногда практически невозможно подобрать место для засидки с подветренной стороны имеющее достаточный сектор обстрела, особенно при переменном ветре. Ни в коем случае нельзя надевать шелестящую одежду. Снимать оружие с предохранителя нужно до появления животного. Ведь любой шелест, шорох или щелчок спугнут животное. Лучший результат дает добыча бобра на тропах и переходах. Но при этом мала вероятность того, что животное появиться здесь именно в день охоты. Часто бывает, что к свеже сваленному дереву бобр возвращается только через несколько дней или даже недель. Легче всего выследить бобра у мест постоянного обитания (вблизи нор, хаток, коблов, плотин), но в этом случае тяжелее добыть его. Стрельба бобра на воде имеет ряд недостатков: во-первых, убитое животное часто тонет. Так 11 охотников, опрошенные мной, привели 52 примера, когда убитое животное сразу же начинало тонуть. Что составляет, в отдельных случаях, до 70% от отстрелянных особей. И только 16 из них удалось достать из воды. Если добыть раненое животное не удалось, с охотника взимается плата за выдачу разового разрешения в размере 50 процентов его стоимости. Не хотелось бы убить, заплатить 50% от стоимости разового разрешения и вернуться с пустыми руками. Хотя имеется много случаев, когда наповал убитое животное прекрасно держится на плаву, иногда целый день. Поэтому необходимо использовать собаку обученную доставать добытого бобра, либо стрелять на отмелях (в неглубоких каналах). Есть мнение специалистов, что в момент выстрела, зверь с погруженной головой, засасывает в легкие воду и его удельный вес становится тяжелее, за счет чего он тонет; во-вторых, смертельно раненое животное скрывается в убежище, откуда достать его практически невозможно; в-третьих, в плывущего бобра (у которого видна только голова и часть спины) стрелять нужно с небольшого расстояния 5–20 метров. При уменьшении угла между линией прицеливания и поверхностью воды, возникает большая вероятность рикошета, а также глубина в 5–25 см воды, которые возникают на пути заряда, значительно снижают его скорость. Пулей не рекомендую стрелять, велика вероятность сделать подранка, либо вовсе промахнуться. Были случаи когда охотники добывали бобра «утиной» дробью № 4, 5 с расстояния в 3–5 метров. При выстреле в упор — ломается шейный позвонок. Многие охотники рекомендуют стрелять бобра только с нарезного оружия, при этом практически нет подранков. Иной раз один какой-нибудь миг позволяет сделать выстрел по долгожданному зверю. Не выстрелишь в этот миг, и больше уж не придется совсем стрелять. Охотник, однако, обязан по возможности учесть поведение зверя и выбрать благоприятные условия для выстрела. До и после выстрела нельзя забывать о возможных мерах предупреждения потери добычи. Сезон охоты на бобра: с 1 сентября по 31 марта разрешена охота на животных любого пола и возраста в светлое время суток ружейным способом с подхода, из засады, безружейным способом капканы № 3-7, ловушки (кроме петель) охотничьи собаки при изъятии ловушками: все породы, кроме гончих и борзых Охота разрешена в сроки, способами и орудиями указанными в приложении 2 к Правилам ведения охотничьего хозяйства и охоты.

Sitka DIY: Doing Time in the Sitka Silver Mine Doing Time in the Sitka Silver Mine One of the definitions of the word “mine” is: a rich source of supply. In that regard, it seems that Alaska is a fish mine for many, with plentiful fish available to harvest and enjoy. Certain species are more plentiful than others. For example, Chinook salmon are the largest but least abundant of all salmon in North America. They are arguably the most desired by sport anglers. However, they’ve been at a period of low abundance for the past several years. Pink salmon are the smallest and most numerous. However, they’re the least desired. Perhaps it’s their size, or that their meat is not as rich or as deeply colored as other species. Coho salmon strike an interesting balance. They’re not as large as Chinook but are larger than pinks. Their fat content is not as high as a Chinook’s, but the meat is flavorful and richly colored. Coho are much more numerous than Chinook, but not as numerous as pinks. Coho are hard-fighting and capable of reaching 20 pounds, though the average fish will likely be in the 7- to 10-pound range. In many saltwater ports in Alaska, a generous daily bag limit of six coho per person per day with no annual limit means anglers can harvest a fair quantity of salmon even on a short trip, if they can find them. For anglers looking for great sport, great eating, and an abundant harvest, coho just might be viewed as the mother lode of salmon in many saltwater ports due to their quality, both on the table and on the line, combined with their abundance. Sitka sits smack-dab in the middle of the west coast salmon superhighway. It’s a fantastic place to mine for silver salmon. My sister, Delores Krumm of Portland, Oregon, cousin Tom Krumm from Anaconda, Montana, and I flew into Sitka on August 21st. The weather forecast looked great for the next several days with seas between two- and five feet and light winds. This was my second DIY trip to Sitka last summer. The first trip was earlier in the year—June—targeting kings and halibut. I found the fishing as well as the equipment and service provided by Fish Baranof to be so perfect for a great DIY fishing experience that I just had to try it again, targeting coho. Despite not being an expert in the Sitka angling scene, we did quite well and had a most enjoyable experience. Day one found us trolling with downriggers northwest of Vitskari Rocks. Anticipation was high, but after a couple hours of trolling all we’d managed was a single pink salmon. We released that fish and decided to head out towards St. Lazaria Islands. Upon arrival, the fishfinder showed lots of fish. We again dropped the lines down and trolled, but unfortunately, what we encountered were large numbers of small, suspended rockfish. After an hour or so of constantly releasing rockfish and redeploying the gear, we decided to move out to Cape Edgecumbe. As we approached the Cape, we could see a large number of boats working the area, including commercial trollers as well as private and charter boats. Most were trolling, but a few of the charter boats were mooching. We dropped the gear down and began trolling north. Less than five minutes into our troll, the first fish yanked the line out of the downrigger release and the rod tip popped skyward, then was yanked down and line peeled from the reel. It turned out to be a small king which we released without netting. We continued trolling with the fleet and though we didn’t experience hot action, we did put four coho in the box, and released maybe twice that many pinks. Most of the fish were caught at 60 feet of depth in water from 200-to 300 feet deep. Struggling to find good numbers of coho, we decided to drop the hook to try for halibut. I motored to the coordinates of a spot in 210 feet of water that had produced limits of halibut in June. Tom and Delores deployed bait rods while I chose to jig. Their gear consisted of typical halibut bait rods, Daiwa Tanacom 750 electric reels, spreader bars with 16 ounces of lead, and a bait rig consisting of two 10/0 J-hooks snelled on 135-pound-test Izorline First String. An eight-inch, luminous hoochie, size 6 luminous Corky, and a scent chamber filled with Pro-Cure Butt Juice Super Gel rode on the line above the J-hooks, and we skewered herring and chunks of pink salmon onto the hooks. We then slathered the entire thing in Pro-Cure’s Butt Juice Bait Oil. We call this rig “The Reaper” because halibut are nearly always hooked and landed when they bite it. I jigged with a Daiwa Harrier X model HRX66HB with a Daiwa Saltist 35H reel and 65-pound-test Daiwa J-Braid x8 Grand line. My jig of choice was an eight-ounce lead-head jig with a luminous, eight-inch Berkley PowerBait Saltwater Grub with a liberal coating of Butt Juice Super Gel. I hoped eight ounces would be heavy enough; turns out it was. Unfortunately, a couple hours’ effort only produced two small halibut (20- and 25 pounds).

Rewilding: Jaguars return to Argentina’s wetlands 70 years after local extinction Rewilding efforts are returning jaguars, the largest predator in South America, to areas where the species has been driven to local extinction due to hunting and habitat loss. In Argentina, just 200 Jaguars remain, but a reintroduction programme has returned a mother and two cubs to the country’s Iberá wetlands, 70 years after the species was last observed in the region. They are the first of nine jaguars which will be released to repopulate the wetlands, which are a protected area covering almost 700,000 hectares and offering an abundance of wild prey for the big cats. Jaguars are a “keystone species” - an organism vital for the continuation of the local ecosystem - as they control levels of prey which would otherwise overgraze habitats, reducing biodiversity. It is hoped their presence will help wildlife in the wetlands flourish. The adult jaguar, named Mariua by researchers, was born wild before being rescued as an orphan cub in her native Brazil, while her two cubs Karai and Porã were born in captivity in September 2020. They are the first jaguars to live in complete freedom in the Argentinian province of Corrientes, according to the organisation who introduced them to the area, Rewilding Argentina. Местом их проведения стали охотничьи угодья страны независимо от ведомственной подчиненности. Соревнования приводились 1/02/2025 в светлое время суток с 8 до 19 часов. Обязательным условием было: добыча лис строго в указанное время и день. Для подтверждения охотники представляли в течение 30 минут свою фотографию с трофеем. За каждую подходящую по критериям добытую лису охотнику начислялся 1 балл. В соревновании участвовали 219 охотников, которые суммарно добыли 122 лисы. Победителями соревнований «Хитрый Лис 2025» стали: 1-е место – Александр Стаселько (13 лис). Место охоты – Дятловское охотничье хозяйство учреждения «Слонимская МРОС» РГОО «БООР». 2-е место – Сергей Володько (12 лис). K roku 2017 se jediná životaschopná populace tetřeva hlušce v Česku nacházela na Šumavě, kde se vyskytovalo přes 90 % všech tetřevů na českém území. Počet tetřevů na Šumavě zaznamenal během 20. století prudký pokles, který dosáhl dna počátkem 90. let, kdy se počty odhadovaly na něco přes 100. Od té doby však populace pomalu roste. Jako hlavní příčina růstu se uvádí nárůst bezzásahových zón (asi 200 km², přičemž celková rozloha potenciálně vhodného habitatu na Šumavě je kolem 500 km²). Nárůstu populace pomohl i zákaz lovu tetřevů (1978 v Československu, 1973 v Bavorsku) a vyhlášení Národního parku Šumava v roce 1991. Na nárůstu šumavské populace se mohlo podepsat i vypuštění tetřevů odchovaných v zajetí, ke kterému v letech 1985–2000 docházelo na německé straně v Bavorském lese a blízkém okolí. Zatímco mezi lety 1985–2000 bylo na německé straně vypuštěno 1258 tetřevů, na české straně bylo mezi lety 1997–1999 vypuštěno 118 jedinců. V roce 2010 počet šumavských tetřevů narostl na cca 300. Tento stav si tetřevi podrželi víceméně po celá 10. léta 21. století. Největší část šumavské populace žije ve střední a západní části šumavského národní parku u hranic s Německem. Velké množství jedinců se tak vyskytuje na české i německé straně (v Bavorském lese). Ne všichni tetřevi se nachází na území národního parku Šumava; část se nachází v CHKO Šumava a v ptačích oblastech Velký a Malý Javor a Schwarzeck. Hnízdiště šumavských tetřevů se nacházejí téměř výhradně v nadmořské výšce 1000–1370 m (výjimečně již od 800 m) a jsou soustředěna hlavně na centrální pláně modravské a kvildské a vysoké polohy železnorudské hornatiny, včetně kotliny horní Křemelné. Tetřev hlušec patrně přežívá i v Beskydech. Jeho počty je složité odhadnout, nejspíše se bude jednat jen o několik jedinců, případně nižší desítky. Mezi lety 2014–2016 byl v Beskydech potvrzen výskyt 10 tetřevů. V Českém lese, kde se tetřevi dlouhodobě vypouštějí z odchovů, se podle odhadů z roku 2016 vyskytuje kolem 30–40 kusů. Ojediněle se tetřev hlušec vyskytne i v Krkonoších, Krušných horách nebo Jeseníkách.
